Windham Region Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Aug. 8.
As the Executive Director of the Council on Soil and Water Conservation in Connecticut, I am assisting our state in hosting the National Association of Conservation Districts Northeast Region Meeting that will be held August 25-28, 2018 at the Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Ledyard, CT.
This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase Connecticut’s Agricultural industry, from raw to manufactured products.
We would like to ask you to consider donating product samples/gift items for the swag bags that will be distributed during the conference. We are expecting that 120 units will be distributed, and any non-perishable, small items can be included.
The theme of the conference is Sound Practices: Conservation for the Future.
This meeting will be attended by conservation district officials and staff, USDA NRCS staff, and other conservation partners from the 12 states that make up NACD northeast region, reaching from West Virginia to Maine.
Attendees will participate in numerous workshops and sessions related to natural resource management, living shorelines, pollinator habitats, healthy forests protection and more. Tours include the Little River Watershed, the Niantic Storm water Best Management Practices project, and a coastal tour starting at Harkness State Park and ending with a boat trip to view an oyster farm.
We look forward to counting on your support- this is a marketing opportunity for your products as well as of our state’s agricultural industry.
