Graduates earn 1,804 degrees, certificates from the University of Bridgeport


About 16.5 percent of the 1,804 degrees and certificates handed out by the University of Bridgeport in 2017-18 were to students in engineering programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Bridgeport conferred 231 master's degrees and 54 bachelor's degrees in engineering programs.

But the single most popular program was for a master's degree in computer science. Data shows the school gave out 154 master's degrees in computer science, followed by 108 master's degrees in general business administration and management and 93 master's degrees in electrical and electronics engineering.

The university enrolled 5,434 students for 2017-18, including 3,129 in undergraduate programs and 2,305 in graduate programs.
