About 12.6 percent of the 4,345 degrees and certificates handed out by the Yale University in 2016-17 were to students in Social Sciences programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Haven conferred 348 bachelor's degrees and 158 master's degrees in Social Sciences programs.

But the single most popular program was for a master's degree in Business Administration and Management, General. Data shows the school gave out 463 master's degrees in Business Administration and Management, General, followed by 224 doctor's degrees in Law and 173 master's degrees in Public Health, General.

The university enrolled 12,458 students for 2016-17, including 5,472 in undergraduate programs and 6,986 in graduate programs.
